Rome City Break - 3 Nights

From $600pp

Rome is a fabulous mix of history, archaeology, art, religion, and delicious food; and it certainly is the most popular place to visit in Italy. Truth is, Rome is a city that hardly leaves you indifferent. It's the kind of place you either love or hate – and most inevitably love it.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival Rome

Upon your arrival in Rome reach the hotel on your own and check in (transfer available as an optional extra). Overnight in Rome.

Day 2 -  Rome

After breakfast at the hotel, explore the city at your leisure. Explore the ancient wonders of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Pantheon, then savor authentic Italian cuisine in Trastevere's charming streets for a perfect blend of history and gastronomy in Rome. Don't forget to toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain to ensure your return to the Eternal City. Or join one of our unique tours following the steps of Julius Caesar (not included). Nat Geo: Discovering the Rome of Julius Caesar (English guide, operates Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (except first Sunday of each month) shared tour, starts at 9:30 am, duration 4hrs). The tour will follow an itinerary that links Caesar’s life and deeds, crossing the city to encounter symbolic places from his history and his empire, but will also pass by significant locations of current power. In the company of a specialist Roman history guide, you’ll get important insights into monuments such as the Roman Forum as well as lesser-known sites such as the Temple of Pompey, Theatre of Marcellus and Porticus Octaviae. Your lunch location is a very special place: an underground restaurant where the ruins of the location where Caesar was assassinated are visible. The tour includes English speaking guide, a walking tour, admission fees and lunch. Meeting point: Trajan Column, Foro Traiano (Please be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes in advance). Note: Not suitable for wheelchairs or people who struggle to walk distances.

Day 3 - Rome

After breakfast at the hotel, spend another day discovering the city. Embark on a Vatican City adventure, marveling at the artistic masterpieces in the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica, before ascending to the top of St. Peter's Dome for breathtaking views of the city. Later, meander through the picturesque neighborhoods of Campo de' Fiori and Piazza Navona, indulging in gelato and enjoying the lively atmosphere of these historic squares. Overnight in Rome.

Day 4 - Departure Rome

Enjoy your last breakfast in Rome and if time permits take the last walk to say “arrivederci” to the city or do some shopping. Transfer to the airport or train station is available as an optional extra.
