Cheryle Yin Lo, a Sydney native with a lifelong passion for travel, has turned her love for exploring the world into a career as an independent travel agent. Her travels began in her 20s when she taught in China and ventured to Bangladesh, Tibet, and Nepal, where she co-founded Drik Picture Library and worked with local women’s craft producers. These early experiences fueled her desire to help others explore diverse cultures and destinations.
With a background in creative industries, local government, and cultural tourism, Cheryle developed expertise in crafting immersive, community-based travel experiences. She holds an academic doctorate in cultural research, specializing in the cultural values of the Blue Mountains UNESCO World Heritage Area. Her work has honed her organizational skills and understanding of cross-cultural communication, ensuring she delivers stress-free, seamless travel experiences for her clients.
In 2022, Cheryle launched her career as a full-time travel consultant. She’s built strong relationships with sustainable eco-tourism operators, leading small group tours such as her 2024 trip to Peru, where she shared her passion for Indigenous cultures and community-based tourism. Cheryle’s expertise lies in creating personalized itineraries that blend adventure, culture, history, and community wellbeing. Whether planning off-the-beaten-path explorations or must-see sights, she listens to her clients’ preferences to curate trips that reflect their tastes and interests.
Cheryle’s dedication to exceptional customer service and cultural exploration extends beyond travel planning. She volunteers with the UNAA NSW, promoting Sustainable Development Goals in schools through creative projects. Living in the Blue Mountains, she enjoys bushwalking and exploring regional NSW, and in 2025, she’ll lead another small group tour to Peru, including the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu.
